this sequel is better than its predecessor, "The Fast and the Furious.
"The Fast and the Furious" was bogged down by a plot of hijacking
semi-trucks, something that's stupid even for this kind of movie. The
plot of "2 Fast 2 Furious" wises up, relatively speaking. U.S. Customs
Agents recruit ex-cop and current street racer Brian O'Connor (Paul
Walker) to help them bring down Carter Verone (Cole Hauser) a
businessman who is laundering money and is linked to street racing. If
Brian agrees, the authorities will wipe out his criminal record, which,
sadly, does not include bad acting. Brian agrees, but only if he can
enlist the help of his old buddy Roman (Tyrese)...The chases have their
moments, like Brian speeding in reverse or leapfrogging over another
car during a bridge jump, but they don't rival the high-speed truck
heists of the first movie. One of the biggest "oooh" moments here is
when a racer's car gets crushed under the rear wheels of a truck. Yummy
fatality!..."

Movie Writer - ...The still hunky and somewhat less lunky Paul
Walker returns as undercover cop-gone-somewhat-wrong Brian O'Conner,
who has moved to Miami after losing his badge in Los Angeles for
letting a street-gang leader (Vin Diesel's Dominic from the 2001
original) fishtail away. Now Brian is racing for cash on long stretches
of Miami streets that the races' organizers somehow have cleared of any
vehicles or living creatures...

- ...Despite the persuasive rat, the cops do chase the speed-racers,
but they have anticipated this, and drive their cars into a vast
garage, after which dozens or hundreds of other supercharged vehicles
emerge from the garage, confusing the cops with a high-speed traffic
jam. Oh, and some guys in monster trucks crush a lot of squad cars
first. It is my instinct that the owners of monster trucks and street
machines treat them with tender loving care, and don't casually
volunteer to help out a couple of guys (one they've never seen before)
by crashing their vehicles into police cars. You can get arrested for
that...

Enquirer - ...Paul Walker is the returning star from the surprise
2001 hit, The Fast and The Furious; in this installment Brian O'Connor
is a disgraced former undercover cop relocated to Miami and living off

agent Bilkins (Thom Barry, also returning from the first film) and
Miami customs agents strong-arm O'Connor into chasing down a drug lord.
